Glad you're okay, I thought that you'd been caught reading CoC or something. Hope that you find a way out that you can cope with..

i am a regular pioneer in my cong reading crisis of conscience.here goes...
by MsGrowingGirl20 ini'm on page 90 right now...the info is definitely new and gives me a totally diff view as to how i used to think of faithful and discreet slave.
i was thoroughly disgusted with the way the brothers handled the oral sex and leadership problem and the insight on the scriptures book...... still have alot of questions though.

Theists, why does God allow suffering..
by The Quiet One in..specifically, the suffering of animals.
you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

BIOFLEX said: " If there is death, then there should be that which causes death. " -- Fine, but we're not talking about the need for animals to die.

BIOFLEX said: "are you a vegetarian? and what is the difference between the crushed rabbit serving as dinner for a snake and the chicken that getted boiled by man for food." -- The chicken is already dead when it is boiled, having been killed humanely and quickly (to the best of my knowledge). Further, I had no control over how that chicken was killed.. The rabbit you mention suffers. You may not care about animals suffering, but some people would rather an animal had as little suffering as possible before their short lives end. I think it's called compassion... If you had to kill a rabbit for food, in any way you wanted to, would you A) Kill it quickly and humanely, B) Wrap a rope around its neck and choke it to death, C) Poison it and watch it die slowly, or D) Once caught, tear it to pieces with your teeth whilst still alive? Any answer other than A is animal cruelty. If you answer A, you display more compassion than the animals that your God designed/told what to do by instinct.

You're quite right. I apologise, it should have been entitled ' In relation to mandatory reporting, here's an interesting example from Ireland ' . I mentally grouped them with the UK for some reason. I'm off before I make a further **** of myself.

Do your own research on this.. But I think it could set a precedent regarding abuse coverups.

" In the Republic of Ireland, proposals have recently been announced in 2011 to make failure to report an allegation of child abuse a crime, even if it was made during a confession. These proposals were prompted by several sex abuse scandals, but have caused controversy on the grounds that such a law would compromise the Seal of the Confessional.
